Why I Created This App

Like many parents, I found myself writing down the funny things my children said in the Notes app on my phone. Over time, I realized those scattered notes had quietly become some of my most treasured possessions. They weren't just funny quotes anymore—they were snapshots of who my children were at that moment in their lives.

Then I thought about something else that I'm sure many people have experienced. I've found myself listening to old voicemails from family members who have passed away. It isn't because the message itself was particularly important. It's because, for just a few moments, I get to hear their voice again. A photograph can remind us what someone looked like, but hearing their laugh, the way they said your name, or the warmth in their voice brings them back in a way that a picture never can.

That realization changed how I thought about memories. The everyday conversations, the bedtime stories, the silly questions, the laughter around the dinner table, and the little mispronounced words that disappear as children grow up are often the moments we miss the most. They're rarely planned, and they're almost impossible to recreate once they're gone.

I searched for an app that made it easy to preserve those voices, stories, and everyday moments in one place, but I couldn't find one that felt simple, personal, and centered around family. So I decided to build it.

Our Favorite Memories was created to help families capture today's little moments so they can be treasured for generations. My hope is that years from now, you'll not only remember what someone said—you'll be able to hear it again, smile, laugh, and feel as though they're right there beside you.

Someday...

Someday you'll hear your child's little voice exactly as it sounded when they were four. Someday your grandchildren may laugh at the same stories your family laughs about today. Someday you'll remember not only what someone said...but exactly how they said it. Because memories fade. Photographs capture a moment. Because someday, the little things become the things you treasure most. That is why Our Favorite Memories exists.
